Years 1913

"The year 1913 marks the continuation of the genocide on an incalculable scale.

In Nishor, Suhareka, Serbs killed 42 people and razed 5 or 6 houses. (F.192)

In Krrabë and Çermenikë, Serbs killed 20-30 Albanians.

Murder, hanging and strangulation in torture took place every day. In these conditions, it is said (sarcastically, Gj.D.) in the documents, there were two opposite concerns: among the Albanians the concern for the fate of their lives, among the Serbs the concern for the bullets that were spent killing Albanians.

The Serbian officer Vuksanovi,, easily but in an original way, said: At first we killed the Albanians with rifles and batons, but soon the order arrived that there was no benefit in spending the ammunition, so the Albanians would be stabbed. And so the victims were divided into groups of 40 to 50 people, lined up in two rows with their faces turned towards each other, and then the officers or non-commissioned officers stabbed the Albanians in the neck one by one. These unfortunate people, neither playing from the ground, nor shouting, were almost not human beings. (F.194)

(In the documents) it is stated that in 12 villages of Luma and Opoja at least 573 houses were completely burned and 672 people were killed and that the slaughter of women and children was carried out calmly and with a plan.

It also happened in the wider region of Gjilan, where in 19 villages there were massacres of the worst. In Kabash alone 47 people were massacred. (F.203)

M.E. Durham stated: The Serbs were released in the province of Gostivar, burning the villages with kerosene and throwing into the flames with the tops of bayonets those who could not escape. There are villages with 100, 150 or 200 houses, where now there is no spirit. In Recan, Gostivar, Serbs, after shooting 30 people, 200 women, children and the elderly, locked them in two houses and burned them alive.
